Overview

Health Insurance Exchanges (HIXs) as set forth under the Affordable Care Act continue to demand significant stakeholder attention as developmental activities evolve, complexities surface, and federal and state regulatory issues and guidance emerges. Private exchanges also continue to emerge in the marketplace.

Health Plan and related stakeholders, regardless of their level of participation in various exchanges must monitor these market activities and dynamics, and position themselves and their product to compete in a post exchange environment that will precipitate a shift from a wholesale to a retail model in product distribution and service.
